Have you guys ever noticed how odd the English language is?
For example, the letter combination “ch”.
It’s usually pronounced like the way it is in “*Ch*ess”. However, sometimes you pronounce it with a “k” sound, like in “chorus” and “choreo”.
The letter “c” also has different pronunciations. Sometimes it’s pronounced as a “k”, as in “core”, other times it’s pronounced as “s”, like “facade”.
I also believe some words are pronounced differently depending on the context, but I cannot think of an example
We also put random silent “e”’s at the end of words, like “make”.
